The Pussycat Dolls just announced a glossy comeback with a new single, a global tour, and a full nostalgia moment for fans who grew up watching them dominate pop culture… there’s just one tiny detail.
The Dolls are now a trio.
Only Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Roberts are returning for the reunion, leaving longtime members Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton and Carmit Bachar noticeably absent from the lineup this time around.
So what happened?
According to the trio, nothing scandalous. At least officially.
“The Pussycat Dolls have always been known for an ever changing line up,” Kimberly explained in an interview with the BBC, sounding very zen about the situation.
“It just so happens that right now we’re in a space where we feel united and in a place where we’re ready to push forward. And this is the line up now, for 2026… but you never know with the Pussycat Dolls what might come next.”
Nicole, the group’s longtime frontwoman and unofficial ringmaster, hinted that timing played a huge role in who ended up back in the cage.
“After 20 years, you’re like, ‘Where is everybody?’” she said.
“But for us, it aligned. People are in different places in their lives. Some of the other people have different commitments and priorities… but this worked out for us.”
Right.
During a Heart Radio UK interview, Nicole joked that the trio was “already looking like the Charlie’s Angels.”
Ashley revealed it was Nicole who kicked off the reunion texts in the first place.
“Nicole reached out,” she said. “We had some conversations and we were just like, ‘We’re on the same page, we’re excited about embracing where we’re at now as women and celebrating that.’”
And yes, if anyone was worried the Dolls might have toned things down with age, absolutely not.
“I’m just really excited to get back on stage and swing these hips around in some latex, hun!”
Still, fans can’t help but wonder if this is just the opening act of the reunion, or if the other Dolls might eventually slink back onto the stage.
After all, when it comes to the Pussycat Dolls, the lineup has never exactly been predictable.
