Sia’s second husband, radiation oncologist-turned-ketamine-clinic-owner Dan Bernad, is asking the court for a jaw-dropping $250,856 per month in temporary support after their short-lived 26-month marriage crashed and burned.
When the Champagne Stops Flowing
According to new court filings, Dan insists he’s now broke — unemployed, unlicensed, and utterly “financially dependent on Sia.”
The 47-year-old says he gave up his six-figure medical career to become a full-time husband and help Sia launch their Los Angeles ketamine clinic, Modern Medicine.
But since April, the money faucet has run dry. Sia, after filing for divorce in March, allegedly cut off all funding for the clinic and stopped his salary.
Now Dan claims he can’t go back to oncology — his board certification expired, and it would take “several years of training” to get back in the game.
So what’s his plan? Simple: get the “Chandelier” singer to keep him living like a star.
Private Jets, Porsche Gifts, and Pricey Tastes
In his filings, Dan paints a picture of their very expensive love story — a “luxurious and upper-class lifestyle” filled with private jets, fine dining, lavish vacations, and a shiny Porsche 911 Targa 4 that Sia reportedly gifted him because he once mentioned always wanting one.
He claims they spent around $400,000 a month on their lifestyle — and now wants a quarter-million every month just to “maintain the status quo.”
The $500K Legal Bomb
The demands don’t stop at spousal support. Dan’s asking Sia to cough up $300,000 for his attorney fees and another $200,000 for forensic accounting — “to level the playing field.”
That’s half a million in legal bills alone — before the first support check even clears.
Sia’s Side
When Sia filed for divorce back in March, citing “irreconcilable differences,” she checked a very clear box: terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support.
The 49-year-old “Elastic Heart” star also asked for legal and physical custody of their one-year-old son, Somersault Wonder Bernad, but said she was open to Dan having visitation rights.
This marks Sia’s second divorce — she previously split from filmmaker Erik Anders Lang in 2016 after just over two years of marriage.
The Ketamine Clinic Connection
One of the more curious twists? Dan says he quit medicine because Sia didn’t like his long hospital hours. Together, they started a ketamine therapy clinic in 2021 — a venture that’s now reportedly out of funds.
The irony isn’t lost on anyone: the man behind a Modern Medicine clinic now wants his pop-star ex to prescribe him a six-figure monthly financial drip.
The Modern Fairytale Gone Wrong
Dan’s filing calls Sia “the breadwinner” who should maintain his lifestyle, while Sia’s paperwork says she wants nothing more than to move on.
Once the mysterious muse who hid behind wigs, Sia now finds herself center stage in a real-life tabloid opera — complete with luxury cars, a ketamine clinic, and a husband demanding Porsche-level alimony.
