In a new interview with British Vogue, the Goop goddess admitted she had no clue Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner were dating while filming their steamy new A24 movie Marty Supreme.
“Everyone makes fun of me because I don’t know anything,” Gwyneth confessed. “I asked Timothée if he had a girlfriend, and he said he did. He mentioned she had kids, and I thought, ‘That’s so cool — I really love hearing that from a young man like you.’”
She said she even told him it was a “punk rock choice” to date a woman with two children — before realizing that woman was Kylie Jenner.
The Woman With Kids… Was Kylie Jenner
“I understand a 45-year-old dating a woman with kids,” Gwyneth explained, “but for a young guy to do that? I thought it was kind of punk rock. But my point is — I didn’t know it was Kylie Jenner.”
Somehow, the Oscar winner managed to miss the world’s loudest soft launch. Jenner and Chalamet have been linked since 2023, long before filming began on Marty Supreme, and have been spotted everywhere from Beyoncé concerts to Golden Globes PDA zones.
Kylie, 28, shares daughter Stormi, 7, and son Aire, 3, with ex Travis Scott — a detail that seemed to both impress and slightly confuse Gwyneth.
“All My Mom Group Chats Were on Fire”
The actress says she eventually learned who Chalamet’s mystery girlfriend was — but only after their own kissing photos hit the internet.
“Oh my God, all of my mom group chats were on fire,” Paltrow told Vogue. “Everyone was like, ‘Yes, GP, get it!’ I was like, ‘Guys, calm down.’”
The internet wasn’t much calmer. The Marty Supreme stills — showing Paltrow and Chalamet making out in Central Park — went viral in seconds, turning Gwyneth into an accidental cougar icon overnight.
The Sex Scenes Are “Transactional” — Not Romantic
And if you’re wondering about those NSFW scenes everyone’s whispering about — yes, there’s a lot of rolling around.
“When we were doing it, there was a lot of rolling around,” Gwyneth teased. “It’s actually quite… palatable.”
She added that her character’s relationship with Chalamet’s Marty isn’t a love story — it’s a “transaction.” Cold, strategic, and anything but romantic. Which somehow makes the behind-the-scenes dynamic even funnier.
Punk Rock Meets Pop Royalty
In a world where most celebrities can’t resist weighing in on pop-culture gossip, Gwyneth’s cluelessness feels almost refreshing — if not slightly unhinged.
She might sell jade eggs and preach mindfulness, but the woman genuinely didn’t clock that her co-star was dating Kylie Jenner.
Still, she gave the couple her stamp of approval in her own chaotic way:
“I respect it,” she said. “It’s kind of punk rock.”
